How to use AI Autofill for questionnaires
Quickly and efficiently fill out questionnaires using our AI Autofill tool, which draws on your past completed responses to suggest relevant answers.

The AI Autofill feature in Procurize Questionnaire streamlines how you respond to questionnaires. You can upload SOC 2 reports, previous questionnaires, or any other relevant PDF or Excel files to use as source material. AI Autofill analyzes your historical responses and suggests answers for the current questionnaire, which you can easily accept, edit, or decline. Your finalized answers can be saved for future use, helping build a smooth and time-saving workflow.
AI Autofill supports content from any Excel or PDF document. Note that it doesn’t process image files (including images inside PDFs) or password-protected files.
For the best results, use source documents that closely align with the questionnaire’s topics. A quick review of the questionnaire can help identify which documents to provide. We recommend starting with a SOC 2 report, your organization’s information security policies, and previously completed questionnaires. In many cases, AI Autofill can complete over 90% of common security questionnaires automatically.
How to Use AI Autofill in Procurize Questionnaire
The AI Autofill feature in Procurize Questionnaire generates answer suggestions based on the sources you provide. You can add source material in three ways:
- From any questionnaires you’ve previously completed in Procurize Questionnaire (either imported manually or completed via a request)
- From PDF or Excel documents stored in your knowledge base
To get started, go to Questionnaires, and either import a new questionnaire or open one you’re ready to complete. You can launch AI Autofill using the prompt at the top of the questionnaire, or from the Tools menu located in the footer.
Browse the sources stored in your knowledge base that are relevant to the questionnaire you are processing.
💡 Tip: Source compliance is determined by linking to projects if your organization has defined projects. If your organization does not use projects, then all sources in the Active state will be used. See Using Projects for more details.
You have the option to limit AI suggestions to only blank fields. Enabling this setting ensures that any responses you’ve already entered remain unchanged and won’t be replaced by new suggestions.
AI Autofill may take a few minutes to finish. The process will keep running in the background, even if you leave the questionnaire page.
Reviewing AI-Powered Suggestions
Once AI Autofill has completed, you can review the suggested answers and finalize your responses.
A progress bar will show how much of the questionnaire has been filled. For example, if 26 out of 45 questions are answered (58%), the bar will reflect this. Blue indicates responses that have been accepted or manually entered, while orange highlights suggestions provided by AI Autofill that are still pending review.
Questions with AI-generated suggestions will also appear in orange within the sidebar navigation. White icons show questions that have been answered or approved by a user, while orange icons indicate responses suggested by AI Autofill that are awaiting review.
Use the suggestion callout box to either Accept, Reject, or edit the AI Autofill-generated answer directly within the form. For more context, click the information icon to view details about the suggestion, including which source documents were used to generate the response.
Click Accept to confirm and save the suggested answer. If you choose Reject, the suggested text will be removed. For multiple-choice questions, you can confirm the selection by either choosing the correct option directly or by clicking Accept in the suggestion box.
For free-text answers, you can replace the AI suggestion with content from a different source by clicking Use this source next to the preferred document.
